Mitchell County Regional Health Center has opportunities for volunteers in various capacities. Volunteers operate the Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop five days a week, conducting sales, pricing merchandise, and assisting with displays. We have volunteers who perform free DEXA heel scanning in surrounding communities. Volunteers offer valuable support to various departments throughout the hospital, helping with the cafeteria lunch line, performing clerical tasks, and working on department projects as needed. Volunteers also sew baby blankets and knit booties presented to new babies born in the hospital.
Mitchell County Regional Health Center currently has openings for volunteers in the following areas:
- Visit hospital patients and/or deliver movies, puzzles, playing cards
- Mini hand, feet and back massages for patients
- Gift shop clerks
- Take care of the fish tank in Osage Clinic
- Clerical support
- DEXA heel scanning
- Play piano in lobby
Volunteering at your local hospital is a wonderful way to give back to the community and enrich your own life.

"Having a small, top-notch local hospital in our area is very important to me. Therefore, I am very willing to volunteer any of my services to maintain that quality performance. It is also very rewarding as I feel I am doing something worthwhile for others.”
