SHARON FREESE, M.A., L.M.H.C., L.M.S.W.
Sharon received her Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist. Her experience includes the Iowa Veterans Home, Covenant High Risk Prenatal Clinic, and Family Therapy at Quakerdale, here in Iowa.
Sharon has been practicing here at the Freedom House for the past nine years. Sharon works with children, adolescents and adults in the context of family and relationships. With children Sharon utilizes her knowledge and experience with Play Therapy as a means of encouraging open expression from the child.

RICK SHAW, M.A., L.M.H.C., L.M.F.T.
Rick has a BS degree in Psychology with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Rick’s focus in mental health counseling has been primarily with individual, Family, and Relationship Counseling and works with clients 8 yrs and older.
Rick has been practicing at the Freedom house now for over 8 years and says he really enjoys his work here. He says he finds the solution oriented and cognitive therapy approaches quite useful with clients he sees.

DEE ROBERTS CHMIELARZ, M.S., L.M.S.W.
Dee obtained her BS degree in Psychology, has a Masters of Science degree with a major in Guidance and Counseling. Dee is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has practiced here at the Freedom House for almost 16 years.
Dee’s experiences are quite varied and she has a history of working with dual diagnosis clients (mental health and substance abuse) and currently specializes in working with clients with complicated PTSD, Abuse and Neglect, Depression, Anxiety, Co-Dependency, and Borderline Personality Disorder issues. |
