Family Medicine

Mark J. Haganman, DO

Dr. Haganman was born in New York, New York. He graduated from the University of Osteopathic Medicine Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1990. Dr. Haganman completed his residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City, Iowa and is board certified in Family Practice. Dr. Haganman and his wife, Nancy, have three children—Kyle, Matt and Katie. Dr. Haganman’s hobbies include sporting and outdoor activities.

Kelly D. Ross, M.D.

Dr. Ross was born in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa in 1981 and completed his residency at Broadlawns, Des Moines, Iowa in 1984. Dr. Ross and his wife, Glenda, have four children—Ben, Beth, Rebecca and Kaleb. Dr. Ross’ hobbies include family activities and running. Dr. Ross is also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Mitchell County Board of Health. Dr. Ross’ special interest is in Geriatric Medicine.

Dr. Nasstrom was born in Fridley, Minnesota. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and then completed his medical schooling at Des Moines University. Dr. Nasstrom completed his residency training at Broadlawns, Des Moines, Iowa and is board certified in Family Practice. Dr. Nasstrom and his wife, Angela, have four children—Lauren, Erica, Bailey and Carson. Dr. Nasstrom enjoys running, biking, basketball and is an active member of the Kiwanis Club.

Robert Roggensack, O.D.

Dr. Roggensack was born in Dubuque, Iowa. He attended the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated in 1986. Dr. Roggensack completed his residency at the West Side Veterans Hospital in Chicago, Illinois and his specialty is Optometry. Dr. Roggensack and his wife, Jane, have three children—Jonah, Carter and Lily. Dr. Roggensack enjoys outdoor activities and is also a member of the Osage Lions Club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Shirley Penney, PA-C

Shirley Penney was born in Osage, Iowa. Shirley received her Physician Assistant Certification in 1993 at the University of North Dakota. Her husband, Steve, farms and works at R.R. Donnelly in Osage. Their children are Rachel and John Fisk, Chris and Sara. Shirley’s hobbies include family activities and working on the computer. Shirley is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Kappa Mu sorority. Shirley’s interest is in Women's Health and Family Medicine.

Marc E. Waitek, PA-c

Marc Waitek, born and raised in Cedar Falls, Iowa received his Physician Assistant Certification from the University of North Dakota in May 1984. Marc has emergency room, orthopedic, surgical, and family practice experience. He served the Dumont rural health clinic and Hampton region for 14 years before joining the staff of Mitchell County Regional Health Center. Marc is an Assistant Scout Master, enjoys waterfowl hunting, fishing, canoeing, and hiking. He has a long time interest in finding and restoring old British Land Rovers. Marc has a son Ethan and a daughter Emily.

Colleen Byrnes, ARNP

Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, Colleen Byrnes joined the MCRHC medical staff in December of 2012. Byrnes is originally from Osage, Iowa. She is a graduate of the University of Iowa and Winona State University and was most recently employed by Mayo Health Systems in Austin, MN.  Byrnes provides Emergency Room coverage in addition to her family medical practice at MCRHC Osage Clinic.

Sue Mullenbach, ARNP

Sue is an ARNP in the St. Ansgar Clinic. She has 26 years experience with Mitchell County Regional Health Center as a registered nurse, critical head nurse, cardiac rehabilitation nurse and clinical leader. Most recently, Sue has been a nurse practitioner in Mason City with Mason City Regency Clinic. Sue lives in Stacyville with her husband, Verlyn. She has two children, Cory and Kelly and one granddaughter, Emerson. In her spare time, Sue enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, flower gardening and the outdoors.
