When it comes to babies...KRHC delivers!
Kossuth Regional Health Center offers a personalized care experience for you and your new baby. KRHC delivers more than 100 babies each year. Six of the family physicians on the KRHC medical staff perform births and four physicians are certified to perform C-sections.
BIRTHING SUITES - KRHC offers three Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) birthing suites which serve as the Family Birthing Center. This facility allows families to enjoy this special time in the comfort and privacy of their own room, surrounded by the family and friends they choose. The newest addition to your family can remain in your room or in the security of our nursery.
CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION - New parents are invited to attend childbirth education classes at Kossuth Regional Health Center, taught by Deb Hansen, R.N., Salena Siefken, R.N. and certified breastfeeding educator and Rebecca Lewis, R.N. and breastfeeding educator. Classes are offered several times each year on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with breastfeeding classes held at a separate time. Free to those who plan to deliver at KRHC ($25 for all others). PRENATAL CARE - Expecting mothers are encouraged to seek out parental care well before the birth of their baby. At your first appointment in the KRHC clinic, all new first time mothers received a complimentary copy of “What Expect When You’re Expecting” donated by the Kossuth Regional Health Center Auxiliary.
BREASTFEEDING SUPPORT - KRHC offers the assistance of two breastfeeding educators. Please contact Community Health at 515-295-4430 to get in touch with either Rebecca Lewis or Salena Siefken for support before or after the birth of your newborn. The KRHC Family Pharmacy offers breastfeeding supplies such as nursing bras, milk storage bags and breast pumps. Pumps are offered for both sale or a monthly rental fee.
