Medicare Part D

SHIIP logoNovember 15 through December 31 are important dates for any Iowan on Medicare. During this period you can enroll in a Medicare prescription drug (Part D) plan if you missed the enrollment deadline earlier this year. If you already have a Part D plan you can choose to enroll in a different plan for 2008.

Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) can help you find answers to the important questions you have on Medicare, Medicare supplement insurance, long term care insurance, and other health insurance issues. Created in 1990 by the State of Iowa Insurance Division, SHIIP has helped thousands of people on Medicare sort through confusing health insurance information. EMH has a SHIIP representative, Diana Ruhl, who can meet with you free of charge to help with questions such as:

  • Diana RuhlI’m retiring. What kind of health insurance do I need?
  • I can’t make sense of my Medicare statements and medical bills. What do I do next?
  • I’ve been considering long term care insurance, but is it a good option for me?
  • Do I need a Medicare supplement policy?
  • How can I help my parents with health insurance?

Call 641-648-7018 for an appointment for a FREE and confidential consultation about your Medicare benefits. Or check out the SHIIP website at http://www.shiip.state.ia.us/
