Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation

The Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation

What to Give

Cash
Your gift of cash, check, credit card or money order is the simplest method of giving and is not subject to gift or estate taxes. Cash gifts will be accepted for any purpose consistent with our mission. Credit card payments can be made by phone by calling the Foundation office 641-648-7188.

Securities/Stock
Marketable securities (including stocks, mutual funds and certain bonds) may help you make a larger gift.

Gift Annuities
A gift annuity is the oldest and most popular charitable gift plan. It is a simple agreement between you and Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation. In return for your gift of cash or marketable securities, the Foundation agrees to pay you and/or another beneficiary fixed annuity payments.

Life Insurance
Policies no longer needed for family protection may be used to help Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation by making the hospital your irrevocable beneficiary. Or, you may purchase new insurance with Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation as the beneficiary. It is also possible to use life insurance benefiting your heirs to "replace" charitable gifts you make in your estate.

Real Estate
If resale is permitted, Ellsworth Municipal Hospital Foundation will be pleased to consider your gift of real estate. The charitable deduction typically is based on appraised market value.

Trust
There are a wide variety of trusts, including charitable remainder, revocable and testamentary, which may enable you to realize your own objectives now and to help meet Ellsworth Municipal Hospital's needs at a later date.

Bequest
There is a prevalent belief that charitable bequests come only from people of wealth. Nothing is further from the truth. Many benefactors of Ellsworth Municipal Hospital have been rich only in terms of their commitment and conviction. Through carefully planned wills, they were able to provide a measure of support that may not have been duplicated with outright gifts.
